The Seat Belt Warning Continues Sounding Or Does Not Sound

THE SEAT BELT WARNING CONTINUES SOUNDING, OR DOES NOT SOUND

Description

- Seat belt reminder warning does not sound.
- Seat belt reminder warning sounds continuously.


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK SEAT BELT WARNING LAMP

1.Turn power switch ON.
2.Check the operation of the seat belt warning lamp in the combination meter.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- GO TO 4.

2. CHECK BCM OUTPUT SIGNAL

Check if the seat belt warning chime is activated by performing BCM active test. Refer to "BUZZER : CONSULT Function (BCM BUZZER)" CONSULT Function.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- GO TO 3.

3. CHECK COMBINATION METER INPUT SIGNAL

Check if buzzer switches to proper condition (On/Off) on data monitor of combination meter. Refer to "CONSULT Function" Combination Meter.





Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace combination meter. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
NO- Replace BCM. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Service and Repair.

4. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE) CIRCUIT

Perform the check for the seat belt buckle switch (driver side) circuit. Refer to "DiagnosisProcedure" Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 5.
NO- Repair harness or connector.

5. CHECK SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH (DRIVER SIDE)

Perform a unit check for the seat belt buckle switch (driver side). Refer to "Component Inspection" Component Tests and General Diagnostics.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace combination meter. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
NO- Replace driver seat belt buckle. Refer to "SEAT BELT BUCKLE : Removal and Installation" Front Seat Belt.
