LICENSE PLATE LAMP CIRCUIT

Component Function Check

NOTE:
Check the parking lamp circuit if the parking lamp and the license plate lamp are not turned ON.

1. CHECK LICENSE PLATE LAMP OPERATION

IPDM E/R AUTO ACTIVE TEST
1.Start IPDM E/R auto active test. With Intelligent Key System (with Intelligent Key) or Without Intelligent Key System (without Intelligent Key).
2.Check that the license plate lamp is turned ON.
CONSULT ACTIVE TEST
1.Select "EXTERNAL LAMPS" of IPDM E/R active test item.
2.With operating the lighting switch, check that the license plate lamp is turned ON.
TAIL: License plate lamp ON
Off: License plate lamp OFF
Is the license plate lamp turned ON?
YES- License plate lamp circuit is normal.
NO- .


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK LICENSE PLATE LAMP BULB

Check the applicable lamp bulb.
Is the bulb normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Replace the bulb.

2. CHECK LICENSE PLATE LAMP OPEN CIRCUIT

1.Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.Disconnect IPDM E/R connector and the license plate lamp connector.
3.Check continuity between the IPDM E/R harness connector and the license plate lamp harness connector.





Does continuity exist?
YES- GO TO 3.
NO- Repair the harnesses or connectors.

3. CHECK LICENSE PLATE LAMP GROUND OPEN CIRCUIT

Check continuity between the license plate lamp harness connector and the ground.





Does continuity exist?
YES- Replace the license plate lamp.
NO- Repair the harnesses or connectors.
