Removal and Installation
Removal
CAUTION:
Before removing the rear suspension assembly, disconnect the wheel sensor from the assembly. Failure to do so may result in damage to the sensor wires and the sensor becoming inoperative.
1.Remove the center exhaust tube with muffler(s). Removal And Installation (QR25DE) or
Removal And Installation (VQ35DE).
2.Remove the brake torque member, caliper and pads as an assembly using power tool, then remove the disc rotor. Removal And Installation.
CAUTION:
- Do not twist or stretch the brake hose.
- Do not drop the pads or shims.
NOTE:
- The brake hose does not need to be disconnected from the brake caliper.
- Suspend the brake torque member, caliper and pads as an assembly using wire.
- Do not depress the brake pedal, or the caliper piston will pop out.
3.Disconnect parking brake cable from knuckle. Removal and Installation
(pedal type), Removal and Installation (lever type).
4.Remove rear wheel sensors. ABS ABS, VDC/TCS/ABS VDC/TCS/ABS.
5.Remove lower shock absorber nuts using power tools.
6.Remove rear lower link. Rear Lower Link & Coil Spring.
7.Remove upper ball joint cotter pin and lock nut using power tools. Suspension Arm.
- Discard the cotter pin. Use a new cotter pin for installation.
8.Disconnect radius rod member side. Service and Repair.
9.Remove front lower link. Front Lower Link.
10.Remove knuckle from suspension arm using Tool. Exploded View.
Tool number: HT72520000 (J-25730-A)
CAUTION:
- Do not damage ball joint when removing.
- While using Tool, temporarily tighten the nut so as not to damage screw threads.
11.Remove stabilizer bar. Rear Stabilizer.
12.Disconnect member harness.
13.Support the rear suspension assembly using a suitable jack.
14.Remove the suspension member nuts and member stay bolts using power tools.
15.Lower the rear suspension assembly.
Installation
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
- Check the rear wheel alignment and adjust if necessary. Rear Wheel Alignment (Unladen).
