BRAKE BOOSTER

Removal and installation


CAUTION:
- Be careful not to deform or bend brake tube while removing and installing brake booster.
- Replace clevis pin if it is damaged.
- Be careful not to damage brake booster stud bolt threads. If brake booster is tilted during installation, the dash panel may damage the threads.

REMOVAL

1.Remove the air cleaner assembly. Service and Repair (QR25DE), Service and Repair (VQ35DE).
2.Disconnect the clutch hose from the reservoir tank (if equipped).
3.Remove the brake master cylinder. Replacement.
4.Release the fuel pressure and disconnect the fuel lines at the main connection. Testing and Inspection (QR25DE for California), Testing and Inspection (QR25DE except California), Testing and Inspection
(VQ35DE).
5.Remove the cowl top and cowl top extension. Coupe.
6.Remove the strut tower bar. Exploded View.
7.Remove the vacuum hose from the brake booster. Exploded View.
8.Remove the accelerator pedal (VQ35DE only). Removal And Installation.
9.Remove the brake pedal (VQ35DE only). Removal And Installation.





10.Remove the snap pin and clevis pin from inside the vehicle (QR25DE only).
11.Remove brake booster from the dash panel on the engine room side.

INSTALLATION






1.Loosen lock nut to adjust input rod length so that length (B) is at the specified value.
Length (B): Specifications.
2.After adjusting (B), temporarily tighten lock nut to install booster assembly. Make sure that a gasket is installed between the brake booster and dash panel.

CAUTION:
Always install a gasket between the brake booster and dash panel.
3.Install the brake pedal (VQ35DE only). Removal And Installation.
4.Install the accelerator pedal (VQ35DE only). Removal And Installation.
5.Install a new snap pin and a new clevis pin (QR25DE only).

CAUTION:
Do not reuse both the snap pin and clevis pin.
NOTE:
The clevis pin must be installed from the right side of the vehicle.
6.Install the vacuum hose on the brake booster. Exploded View.
7.Install the strut tower bar. Exploded View.
8.Install the cowl top and cowl top extension. Coupe.
9.Connect the fuel lines.
10.Install the master cylinder. Replacement.
11.Connect the clutch hose to the reservoir tank (if equipped).
12.Install the air cleaner assembly. Service and Repair (QR25DE), Service and Repair (VQ35DE).
13.Adjust the brake pedal height. Inspection and Adjustment.
14.Tighten lock nut of input rod to the specified torque. Exploded View.
15.Refill new brake fluid and bleed air. Service and Repair.
