FRONT SEAT
PASSENGER SIDE : Disassembly and Assembly
SEATBACK
Disassembly
1.Remove the front seat assembly. Coupe.
2.Remove the seatback board.
NOTE:
The seatback board is attached with the following:
- Two skirt hooks (A)
- Two bottom clips (B)
- Two side clips (C)
- Two top metal hooks (D)

a.From the bottom of the seat, unhook the two seat skirt hooks (<==) as shown.
b.Using a suitable tool, carefully pry the bottom away from the seatback frame to release the seatback board bottom clips (B).

c.In the same manner, pry the center away from the seatback frame to release the seatback board side clips (C).
d.Carefully push downward to release the top metal hooks (D), and remove the seatback board from the seatback frame.
3.Release the velcro strap at the lower edge.
4.Remove the five seatback J-retainers (<==) as shown.
5.Remove and discard the two chute rod nuts (A), then remove the chute rod (1).
NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger similar.
Chute rod nuts (A): 8.2 Nm (0.84 kg-m, 73 in-lb)
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the chute rod nuts.
6.Remove the walk-in knob (1), then remove the bezel.
- Release the seatback cover material behind the bezel from around the metal tabs of seatback frame.
7.Press the headrest holder button in, then remove the headrest.
8.Remove the headrest holders by pinching the hooks together at the bottom and pulling them upward and out of the seatback.
9.Remove the seat side finisher:
a.Using a suitable tool, release the tab and remove the reclining knob.
b.Insert a suitable tool (A) between the seat cushion and the seat side finisher (2), then release the four metal clips. Push the finger (1) of each metal clip to release it from the seat cushion frame.

10.Disconnect the heated seat harness connector (if equipped).
11.Push the bottom of the seatback cover and seatback foam pad away from the frame, then remove the seatback cover and seatback foam pad together as an assembly.
CAUTION:
Make sure to lift the seatback cover and foam pad from the seatback frame slowly, or it may get torn.
12.Remove the upper side air bag module harness clip (<==) from seat frame.

Driver side shown, passenger side similar.

13.Remove lower and front side air bag module harness clips (<==) from seat frame.
NOTE:
Driver side shown, passenger side similar.
14.Remove and discard the two side air bag module nuts (A) from the side air bag module (1).
Air bag module nuts (A): 8.2 Nm (0.84 kg-m, 73 in-lb)
CAUTION:
Do not reuse the side air bag module nuts.
NOTE:

15.Route the side air bag module harness and clips, then remove the side air bag module from the seatback frame.
16.If necessary, separate the seatback cover from the seatback pad.
a.Release the lower bands at the t-tags.
b.Pull the seatback cover from the seatback pad to detach the velcro fasteners.
c.Cut the center of hog rings to remove.
NOTE:
Remove all pieces of hog rings and discard them.
Assembly
Assembly is in the reverse order of disassembly. During assembly, note the following:
- Insert plastic cover panel (1) into the opening between seat back cover pocket (2) behind the air bag module chute (3).
- Make sure plastic cover panel (1) is pushed fully into the bottom of the seatback cover pocket (2) behind the air bag module chute (3) as shown.
NOTE:
Make sure the contour of plastic cover panel corresponds to the top and front of vehicle as shown.

- When installing the seatback cover, firmly press on the seams (<==) to ensure the velcro fasteners below the cover are fastened properly.

- Install new hog rings on the seat cushion cover in the original position.
- Make sure the chute rod is properly positioned and installed as shown.

CAUTION:
Do not reuse chute rod nuts.
Chute rod nuts: 8.2 Nm (0.84 kg-m, 73 in-lb)
NOTE:
Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
- Make sure the side air bag outer chute (3) is pulled over the side air bag module (1) and the side air bag inner chute (2) is pulled around the frame (7). Make sure there are no wrinkles and the chutes are not folded, twisted or pinched.

NOTE:
Driver side shown, passenger side similar.
CAUTION:
- If a malfunction was detected by the air bag warning lamp, after repair or replacement of the malfunction parts, reset the memory using self-diagnosis or CONSULT.
- After work is completed, check that no system malfunction is detected by air bag warning lamp.
- Always install new side air bag module nuts and side air bag chute rod nuts.
- Always route the side air bag module harness in the original location. Replace any deformed or damaged clips with the same type and color. Always install clips in the original location on the harness.
- Smooth out all wrinkles during assembly.
- Inspect seatback foam pad, seatback cover and side air bag chutes. Replace any damaged parts.
- Replace any deformed or damaged parts.
- Replace any deformed or damaged hog rings. Ensure any old hog ring pieces are removed from seat.
- Use only one hog ring in each designated location.
- Ensure hog rings are correctly fastened around both the seatback cover and seatback foam pad wires.
NOTE:
Use NISSAN standard hog rings and tools to assemble.
