BRAKE WARNING LAMP

Component Function Check


1. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LAMP FUNCTION (1)

Check that brake warning lamp turns ON for approximately several second after power switch is turned ON.

CAUTION:
Never engage READY state.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" .

2. CHECK BRAKE WARNING LAMP FUNCTION (2)

Check that brake warning lamp in combination meter turns ON or OFF when brake fluid level switch is operated while brake fluid level in reservoir tank is at the specified level.
NOTE:
Brake warning lamp turns ON when brake fluid is less than the specified level (when brake fluid level switch is
ON).
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- INSPECTION END
NO- Check the brake fluid level switch system. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" C1155.


Diagnosis Procedure


1. CHECK POWER AND GROUND CIRCUITS OF ELECTRICALLY-DRIVEN INTELLIGENT BRAKE UNIT

Perform diagnosis of electrically-driven intelligent brake unit power and ground circuits. Refer to "Diagnosis Procedure" Power Supply And Ground Circuit.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- GO TO 2.
NO- Repair or replace error-detected parts.

2. PERFORM SELF-DIAGNOSIS

With CONSULT
Perform "BRAKE" and "ABS" self-diagnosis.
Is malfunction detected?
YES-Check the error-detected system.

NO- GO TO 3.

3. CHECK THAT BRAKE WARNING LAMP TURNS ON

Check the combination meter. Refer to "CONSULT Function" Combination Meter.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES- Replace the electrically-driven intelligent brake unit. Refer to "Removal and installation" Removal And Installation.
NO- Replace combination meter. Refer to "Removal and Installation" Removal And Installation.
