Removal and Installation


REMOVAL


WARNING:
Always observe the following items for preventing accidental activation.
- Before servicing, push power switch OFF, disconnect 12V battery terminal and wait for 5 minutes or more. Refer to "Precaution for Removing 12V Battery" Precaution For Removing 12V Battery.
- Always work from the side of seatback. Never work in front of it.
- Never use air tools or electric tools for servicing.
1.Remove headrest.
2.Operate seat reclining lever and set the seatback vertically.
3.Remove seat mounting bolts.






a.Operate seat slide lever and slide seat to the frontmost position.
b.Remove rear inner mounting bolt (A).
c.Remove rear outer mounting bolt (B).
d.Operate seat slide lever and slide seat to the rearmost position.
e.Remove front outer mounting bolt (C).
f.Remove front inner mounting bolt (D).
4.Disconnect seat cushion lower harness connectors, and then remove harness fixing clips.

WARNING:
Never insert foreign materials, such as a screwdriver, into side air bag module harness connector.
(This is to prevent accidental activation caused by static electricity.)

CAUTION:
- Operate seat lifter dial and lower seat cushion to the bottom position. (driver seat only)
- Before performing removal operation, check the installation position of harness connectors and harness fixing clips.
5.Remove seat from the vehicle.

CAUTION:
When removing and installing, use shop cloths to protect parts from damage.

INSTALLATION

Note the following items, and then install in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:
- When removing and installing, use shop cloths to protect parts from damage.
- Before installing seat, check that sliding rail inner and outer are locked in the same position.
- Before tightening bolts, check that the carpet is not caught in bolt holes on mounting portion.
- Always fix the harness fixing clamp in position.
- Install connector with lock raised, and push lock into connector.
After installing the connector, check that the lock is pushed securely into it.
- When installing, tighten mounting bolts according to the numerical order (1, 2, 3, and 4 as shown in the figure), starting from front inner mounting bolt.
