SERVICE INFORMATION

Recent design changes have been made to the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors, receivers, and control units on the above Applied Vehicles.

^ These changes do not affect the overall function of the TPMS.

^ These changes do affect the interchangeability of parts.

FOR EXAMPLE:

^ Full wheel assemblies (wheel and tire assemblies with TPMS) cannot be swapped between vehicles with different style TPMS sensors.

^ Issues caused by tire swapping (installation of incorrect sensors) is not a warrantable repair.

CAUTION:
^ Nissan now has three different styles of TPMS.

^ Components are not compatible and cannot be interchanged between these different styles.

^ Swapping of components between these styles will cause the TPMS to stop operating correctly.

^ If wheel swaps are done between models with different style TPMS, the original sensors must stay with the vehicle.

Refer to the following pages in this bulletin for additional information on identifying different style TPMS sensors.

Using Signal Tech II

1. Make sure your Signal Tech II is updated. Refer to NTB10-048 for update information.

2. Use the TPMS check function.

Example

3. Make sure to select the correct vehicle model.

4. If the incorrect sensors are installed a question mark will appear.

Using CONSULT-III

^ If C-III is being used to register TPMS sensors, the registration will fail if the wrong sensors are installed.

^ Do not assume that failure to register means an inoperative sensor. Confirm that the correct sensors are installed.
