IF YOU CONFIRM:
The engine will not start (or go into "READY to drive mode")
AND/OR
Any of the doors (including rear hatch or lift gate, as it applies) will not lock or unlock with the request switch
WHEN
There is more than one Intelligent Key (I-Key) from other vehicles inside the vehicle.
^ For example, the customer is carrying additional I-Keys in their pocket, purse, on their key chain, or center console.
^ The additional I-Key(s) can be from a different Juke or LEAF(R) only.
NOTES
> With this incident, if it should occur, the vehicle will start normally with one I-Key present, but not with the additional I-Keys present.
> This incident, if it should occur with a dealer in-stock unit or rental vehicle, is considered normal and no repairs are to be performed.
> This bulletin applies only when a customer states their vehicle will not start and / or cannot lock / unlock any door and there are multiple I-Keys present.
ACTIONS:
IMPORTANT:
Follow all cautions, warnings, and notes in the Electronic Service Manual (ESM) when working on or near a High Voltage (HV) system or Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), such as an airbag.
1. Replace the BCM with the one that applies in PARTS INFORMATION (see below).
2. Along with BCM replacement:
a. Copy "READ CONFIGURATION from the existing BCM.
b. Perform "WRITE CONFIGURATION".
> For Juke, use CONSULT-III. For LEAF(R), use CONSULT-III plus.
> For the complete BCM replacement procedure, refer to the BCS section of the ESM.
c. Perform I-Key initialization.
> For Juke, refer to the CONSULT-III Operation Manual. For LEAF, use C-III plus, select Immobilizer, and then follow the software guided instructions.
