Removal and Replacement





BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER


Removal and Installation












CAUTION:
Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas; it may cause paint damage. If brake fluid is splashed on painted areas, immediately wipe them with cloth and wash it away with water.

REMOVAL
1. Drain the brake fluid. Removal and Replacement.
2. Remove the battery. Removal and Replacement, Removal and Replacement.
3. Remove the air cleaner and air duct. Removal And Installation (MR20DE), Removal And Installation (QR25DE).
4. Disconnect the brake fluid level switch harness connector.
5. Disconnect the hose to clutch master cylinder (if equipped) from the brake fluid reservoir.
6. Remove the brake tubes from master cylinder using a suitable tool.
7. Remove the master cylinder and reservoir assembly nuts, and remove the master cylinder and reservoir assembly.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
- Refill using recommended brake fluid.
- Never reuse drained brake fluid.
- Check if the rod of primary piston has dust or scratches.





1. Install master cylinder and reservoir assembly to brake booster assembly, and tighten master cylinder and reservoir assembly nuts to the specified torque.

CAUTION:
- Do not damage or strain rod of primary piston.
- Apply silicone grease for O-ring, primary piston rod and to inside of booster.
2. Install brake tubes to master cylinder, then tighten flare nuts to the specified torque using a suitable tool. Diagrams.
3. Connect the hose to clutch master cylinder (if equipped) from the brake fluid reservoir.
4. Connect brake fluid level switch harness connector and clutch master cylinder hose (if equipped).
5. Install the air cleaner and air duct. Removal And Installation (MR20DE), Removal And Installation (QR25DE).
6. Install the battery. Removal and Replacement, Removal and Replacement.
7. Refill with new brake fluid and bleed air. Service and Repair.
