Service Procedure
Replace Vent Control ValveReplace the Vent Control Valve.
^ Refer to the appropriate Electronic Service Manual (ESM) as needed.
Install Filter Kit
1. Remove the EVAP canister protector (see Figure 1).
^ Unfasten the two nuts and two clips (see Figure 1).
2. Remove the EVAP hose (see Figure 2).
^ Disconnect the hose from the body fitting, its clip, and canister (see Figure 2).
NOTE:
This hose will not be reused.
3. Remove the EVAP canister (see Figure 2).
^ Remove the one bolt, and then slide the canister toward the rear of the vehicle (see Figure 2).
4. Remove the EVAP canister bracket (bracket) from the vehicle body (see Figure 3).
^ Remove the three (3) bolts shown in Figure 3.
5. Assemble the kit supplied bracket, filter, and hoses as shown in the image above.
^ Note the position of the line and dots on the hoses when installed as shown above.
6. Install the assembled bracket to the vehicle body (see Figure 4).
^ Install the three (3) bolts (see Figure 4).
7. Connect the hose to the body fitting (see Figure 4).
8. Reinstall the canister (see Figure 5).
^ Install the bolt (see Figure 5).
^ Connect the hose to the vent control valve (see Figure 5).
NOTE:
The replacement hose does not use the bracket clip.
9. Install the canister protector as shown in Figure 1.
^ Fasten the two nuts and two clips as shown in Figure 1.
^ Nuts torque: 5.5 Nm, 0.56 kg-m, 49 in-lbs
10. Clear any DTCs stored in the ECM.
