This bulletin has been amended. The Claims Information and Service Procedure have been updated. No other changes have been made. Please discard all previous versions of this bulletin.
APPLIED VEHICLE: 2007 Versa (C11) and Sentra (B16) with MR engine ONLY
IF YOU CONFIRM:
Any of the following DTC are stored:
^ P0031 (A/F Sensor 1 Heater)
^ P2A00 (A/F Sensor 1)
^ P1148 (Closed Loop Control)
ACTIONS:
1. Refer to Step 2 in the Service Procedure to confirm this bulletin applies to the vehicle you are working on.
2. If this bulletin applies, reprogram the ECM and replace the A/F sensor.
NOTE:
^ Use the new A/F sensor listed in the Parts Information.
^ The original and replacement sensors look different, see above.

The purpose of "ACTIONS" (above) is to give you a quick idea of the work you will be performing. You MUST closely follow the entire Service Procedure as it contains information that is essential to successfully completing this repair.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Connect C-III to the vehicle to begin the reprogramming procedure.
CAUTION
2. When you get to the ECM Reprogramming screen shown in Figure 6, confirm this bulletin applies as follows:
A. On your C-III screen, look at the Part Number column (see Figure 6):
^ If this column is blank (no part number listed), this bulletin does not apply. Close C-III and refer to ASIST for further diagnostic information.
^ If a Part Number is listed, write it on the Repair Order.
B. Go to C below.
C. Compare the Part Number you wrote down to the numbers in the Current ECM Part Number column in Table A.
^ If there is a match, this bulletin applies. Continue with the reprogramming procedure.
IMPORTANT:
If there are two lines (two reprogramming options) on your C-III screen, use the one with the message "Caution! Use ONLY with NTB08-074".
^ If there is not a match, this bulletin does not apply. Close C-III and refer to ASIST for further diagnostic information.
3. If this bulletin applies and you have performed ECM reprogramming, the screen in Figure 2 appears when reprogramming is complete.
4. Make sure to erase DTCs from all Systems.
NOTE:
During the reprogramming, DTCs will set in several systems and must be erased.
5. Replace the A/F sensor.
^ Use the new A/F sensor listed in the Parts Information.
^ Refer to Exhaust Manifold and Three Way Catalyst in Section EM of the Service Manual for A/F sensor replacement information.
6. Test drive the vehicle and make sure it operates correctly and the Check Engine light is OFF.
^ If the Check Engine light comes ON, go back to ASIST for further diagnostic information. Refer to the applicable Electronic Service Manual as needed.
^ Diagnosis and repairs beyond the ECM reprogramming and A/F replacement are not covered by this bulletin.
