Body - Hard to Close Trunk Lid

IF YOU CONFIRM:

The trunk lid closing effort is higher than normal.

ACTION:

Adjust the trunk lid striker as shown in the Service Procedure of this bulletin.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Carefully remove the rear trunk plate (panel trim cover) and place it on a clean surface.





2. Loosen both trunk lock striker bolts. See Figure 1.





3. Pull up and center striker, then torque the lower striker bolt to 3.7-4.3 N.m (0.38-0.44 kg-m, 2.7-3.2 ft-lb).

4. Slowly close the trunk lid to center the striker.

5. Open the trunk lid and torque the top striker bolt to 3.7-4.3 N.m (0.38-0.44 kg-m, 2.7-3.2 ft-lb).





6. Check the trunk lid surface height adjustment. Distance must be between 0.8mm and 2.4mm (0.031 and 0.094 in).
