TIGHTENING PROCEDURES
Intake Manifold
Intake Manifold / Torque Sequence:
^ Tighten in numerical order shown in the figure.
1. Tighten all bolts and nuts to 4.9 - 9.8 Nm (0.50 - 0.99 kg-m, 4 - 7 ft. lbs.).
2. Finally tighten all bolts and nuts to 26.5 - 31.4 Nm (2.7 - 3.2 kg-m, 20 - 23 ft. lbs.).
^ Tighten all bolts and nuts to the final torque, evenly dividing the tightening into at least three steps.
Fuel Tube
^ Tighten in numerical order shown in the figure.
1. Tighten all bolts to 9.3 - 10.8 Nm (0.95 - 1.1 kg-m, 6.9 - 7.9 ft. lbs.).
2. Then tighten all bolts to 20.6 - 26.5 Nm (2.1 - 2.7 kg-m, 16 - 19 ft. lbs.).
Fuel Damper
Tighten fuel damper to 2.9 - 3.8 Nm (0.3 - 0.39 kg-m, 26.0 - 33.9 inch lbs.).
^ Tighten screws evenly several times to have the fuel damper tightened at the specified torque.
^ Always replace O-ring with new ones.
^ Lubricate O-ring with new engine oil.
Electronic Control Throttle Actuator
^ Tighten in numerical order shown in the figure.
Tighten all bolts to 7.2 - 9.6 Nm (0.74 - 0.97 kg-m, 64 - 84 inch lbs.).
CAUTION:
^ Perform "Throttle Valve Closed Position Learning" when harness connector of electronic throttle control actuator is disconnected. Refer to Powertrain Management; Computers and Control Systems.
^ Perform "Idle Air Volume Learning" when electronic throttle control actuator is replaced. Refer to Powertrain Management; Computers and Control Systems.
Intake Manifold Upper Collector
Intake Manifold Upper Collector / Torque Sequence:
^ Tighten in numerical order shown in the figure.
Tighten all bolts to 17.6 - 21.6 Nm (1.8 - 2.2 kg-m, 13 - 15 ft. lbs.).
Intake Manifold Lower Collector
Intake Manifold Lower Collector / Torque Sequence:
Tighten bolts and nuts to 17.6 - 21.6 Nm (1.8 - 2.2 kg-m, 13 - 15 ft. lbs.) in numerical order shown in the figure.
Power Valve
^ Tighten in numerical order shown in the figure.
Tighten all bolts to 17.6 - 21.6 Nm (1.8 - 2.2 kg-m, 13 - 15 ft. lbs.).
Exhaust Manifold
RH bank
LH bank
Tighten nuts to 28.4 - 33.3 Nm (2.9 - 3.3 kg-m, 21 - 24 ft. lbs.) in numerical order shown in the figure.
