Component Description
The ECM consists of a microcomputer, diagnostic test mode selector; and connectors for signal input and output and for power supply. The unit controls the engine.

On Board Diagnosis Logic
Malfunction is detected when ECM calculation function is malfunctioning.

DTC Confirmation Procedure

NOTE: If "DTC Confirmation Procedure" has been previously conducted, always turn ignition switch "OFF" and wait at least 10 seconds before conducting the next test.




WITH CONSULT-II
1. Turn ignition switch "ON".
2. Select "DATA MONITOR" mode with CONSULT-II.
3. Start engine.
4. Run engine for at least 30 seconds at idle speed.
5. If 1st trip DTC is detected, go to "Diagnostic Procedure" below.

WITH GST
Follow the procedure "WITH CONSULT-II" above.
