Operational Check

The purpose of the operational check is to confirm that the system is as it should be. The systems which will be checked are the blower, mode (discharge air), intake air, temperature decrease, temperature increase and A/C switch.

CONDITIONS:
^ Engine running and at normal operating temperature.

PROCEDURE:




1. Check blower
1. Turn fan switch to speed 1. Blower should operate on low speed.
2. Then turn fan switch to speed 2.
3. Continue checking blower speed until all speeds are checked.
4. Leave blower on speed 4.

2. Check discharge air




1. Press each mode switch.




2. Confirm that discharge air comes out according to the air distribution table at left.
Refer to "Discharge Air Flow", "DESCRIPTION".

NOTE: Confirm that the compressor clutch is engaged (visual inspection) and intake door position is at FRESH when the DEF button is pressed.
Confirm that the intake door position is at FRESH when the F/D button is pressed.
Intake door position is checked in the next step.




3. Check recirculation
1. Press REC switch.
Recirculation indicator should illuminate.
2. Listen for intake door position change (air flow sound from intake unit).




4. Check temperature decrease
1. Slide temperature control lever to full cold.
2. Check for cold air at discharge air outlets.




5. Check temperature increase
1. Slide temperature control lever to full hot.
2. Check for hot air at discharge air outlets.




6. Check air conditioning switch
Move the fan control switch to the desired (1 to 4 speed) position and push the A/C switch to turn ON the air conditioner.
The indicator lamp should come on when air conditioner is ON.
