Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
Rear Oil Seal1. Remove drive plate or flywheel.
2. Remove rear oil seal retainer.
3. Remove traces of liquid gasket using scraper.
4. Remove rear oil seal from rear oil seal retainer.
- Be careful not to scratch rear oil seal retainer.
5. Apply engine oil to new oil seal and install it using a suitable tool.
- Install new oil seal in the direction shown.
6. Apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket to mating surface of rear oil seal retainer.
- Use Genuine RTV silicone sealant Part No. 999M A7007 or equivalent.
- Apply around inner side of bolt holes.
