If a 1997-98 Sentra/200SX has a MIL "ON" and DTC P0505 stored in the ECM, the cause may be the IACV-AAC valve.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

Use the flow chart to diagnose and repair the vehicle.





Procedure A (base engine idle speed adjustment using CONSULT):

1. Connect CONSULT.

2. Start engine and warm it up to operating temperature.

3. Select "Work Support" mode.

4. Select "Ignition Timing Adjust" mode and then touch "Start".





5. Use the idle speed adjusting screw to adjust the base idle to 625 +/- 50 RPM for M/T and 725 +/- 50 RPM for A/T (see Figure 2).
