Valve Spring: Testing and Inspection

OUT-OF-SQUARE
1. Dimension "S" is out-of-square. Measure dimension "S".
- The spring must be less than 2.0 mm (0.079 inch) out-of-square.
2. If it exceeds the limit, replace the spring.






PRESSURE
Check valve spring free height and check the pressure at the specified height.
- Free height is 45.79 mm (1.8028 inch).
The standard:
- With a pressure of 471.7 N (106.1 lbs.) the height should be 26.06 mm (1.0260 inch).
The limit:
- The spring should be more than 421.31 N (94.73 lbs.) at a height of 25.0 mm (0.984 inch).
- The spring should be more than 225.6 N (50.7 lbs.) at a height of 26.06 mm (1.0260 inch.) If it exceeds the limit, replace the spring.
