Mode I (Diagnostic Check)

DIAGNOSTIC TEST MODE 1 BULB CHECK
In this mode, a system component or the Engine Control Module's Central Processing Unit malfunction, will cause the RED LED in the Engine Control Module and the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP in the instrument panel stay "ON". If EITHER remain "OFF", check the bulb in the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP or the RED LED.

12 Mass air flow sensor circuit
13 Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit
14 Vehicle speed sensor circuit
31 ECM (ECCS control module)
32 EGR function
33 Heated oxygen sensor circuit (Left side)
35 EGR temperature sensor circuit
43 Throttle position sensor circuit
45 Injector leak
51 Injector circuit
53 Heated oxygen sensor circuit (Right side)


NOTE: These Diagnostic Trouble Code Numbers are clarified in Diagnostic Test Mode II - SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS.

NOTE: The RED LED and the MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP will turn off when normal condition is detected. At this time, the Diagnostic Test Mode II - SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS memory must be cleared as the contents remain stored.
