Removal

Removal








^ Remove exhaust tube.
^ Remove fluid charging pipe from A/T assembly.
^ Remove oil cooler pipe from A/T assembly.
^ Remove control linkage from selector lever.
^ Disconnect inhibitor switch and solenoid harness connectors.
^ Remove speedometer cable from A/T assembly.
^ Plug up openings such as the oil charging pipe hole, etc.
^ Remove propeller shaft.
^ Insert plug into rear oil seal after removing propeller shaft.
^ Be careful not to damage spline, sleeve yoke and rear oil seal, when removing propeller shaft.
^ Remove starter motor.
^ Remove gusset securing engine to A/T assembly.
^ Remove bolts securing torque converter to drive plate.
^ Remove the bolts by turning crankshaft.
^ Support engine by placing a jack under oil pan.
^ Do not place jack under oil pan drain plug.
^ Remove transmission from engine.
^ Support automatic transmission, while removing it.
