Removal And Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.
2. Disconnect transmission harness connectors and clamps.
3. Remove dipstick tube, then disconnect transmission cooler line from right side of transmission and plug openings.
4. Disconnect control linkage from selector lever, then remove propeller shaft.
5. Remove heat shield from catalytic converter, then exhaust tube bracket and separate rear exhaust tube from converter.
6. Remove starter motor, then the gussets and end plate.
7. Remove bolts attaching torque converter to driveplate.
8. Support transmission assembly with a suitable jack and secure to jack, then remove rear mounting bracket from body and transmission assembly.
9. Lower transmission as much as possible, then disconnect transmission cooler line from left side of transmission and plug opening.
10. Remove bolts attaching transmission assembly to engine, then lower assembly and remove from vehicle.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
