1. Set strut assembly in vise using suitable holding tool.
2. Compress spring using suitable spring compressor until strut upper spring seat can be turned by hand.
3. Loosen, do not remove, piston rod locknut.
4. Remove piston locknut.
5. Remove strut assembly components.
6. Reverse procedure to assemble, noting following:
a. When installing coil spring, use care not to reverse top and bottom direction, Fig. 8.
b. When installing spring on strut, position as shown in Fig. 8.
c. When installing upper spring seat, position as shown in Fig. 9.
