Dual Air Bag System

Dual Air Bag Systems will display diagnostic information for both Present and (*) Initial Modes on the same CONSULT screen.

NOTE:
In Dual Air Bag systems, the SRS lamp will flash and indicate you are in Present Mode diagnosis at the same time you are using CONSULT.

A. If a component malfunctioned, and was indicated in the "SELF DIAGNOSIS RESULTS", replace the faulty component and Touch "ERASE", to clear the fault code.

B. Touch the "BACK" key until "SELECT SYSTEM" is displayed. This is a necessary step so we can be placed back into the "User Mode" for normal operation.

NOTE:
CONSULT will indicate more than one failed or damaged component at a time in Present or Initial diagnostic modes.

CAUTION:
You must return to the User Mode after diagnosis, or the SRS Lamp will continue to flash a trouble code. Do not turn ignition switch "OFF" before exiting SELF DIAGNOSIS RESULTS while using CONSULT.

Always verify that you have exited self diagnosis: Turn the ignition switch "ON" and wait 7 seconds to verify the SRS lamp goes "OFF" and remains "Off" after the Bulb Check time period.

(*) Initial Diagnosis Mode was eliminated with the introduction of the Electrical Sensor type Air Bag Module.
