Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
Closes, to inform the ECM when power steering load is high.

LOCATION
Mounted in the power steering high-pressure line.

OPERATION
It signals the ECM when the pressure increases (indicating extra engine load). The ECM can then compensate for the load by sending a signal to the Idle Air Control-Auxiliary Air Control (IACV-ACC) Valve.
