Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
REAR OIL SEAL REPLACEMENT
1. Remove drive plate or flywheel.
2. Remove rear oil seal retainer.
3. Remove traces of liquid gasket using scraper.
4. Remove rear oil seal from rear oil seal retainer.
NOTE: Be careful not to scratch rear oil seal retainer.
5. Apply engine oil to new oil seal and install it using a suitable tool.
NOTE: Install new oil seal in the direction shown.
6. Refer to the illustration and apply a continuous bead of liquid gasket to the rear oil seal retainer. Apply around the inner side of the bolt holes.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
