PAINT GUARD FILM REMOVAL TIMING

This bulletin amends NTB94-042 with updated PGF removal timing information for selected white (paint color code: 326 and 531) Japan-built models.

APPLIED MODELS:
1994 - All Models
1995 - Maxima (A32); 240SX (S14)

SERVICE INFORMATION:

Depending on the model or paint type, Paint Guard Film (PGF) must be removed within 3 or 6 months of the vehicle manufacture date, as indicated in the chart above. After the recommended time period, the effort required to remove PGF is greatly increased. Refer to Technical Bulletin NTB93-041 (BF93-007) for removal procedure.

Some vehicles received by the Dealer may have exceeded the 3 or 6 month removal timing. In those cases, the Vehicle Processing Center (VPC) will have already have removed the original PGF and performed a re-application of new PGF, and then applied a PGF removal/re-application date sticker to the driver's door glass inside surface. The PGF should, therefore, be removed 3 or 6 months from the indicated sticker date.

NOTE:
NMC is working with PGF suppliers which will allow a consistent 6 month PGF removal timing for all models and paint types. Nissan will advise you of any technical changes in future Technical Bulletins.
