Valve Guide Seal: Service and Repair

VALVE OIL SEAL
1. Remove rocker cover.
2. Remove rocker shaft assembly.
3. Remove spark plug. (Exhaust side)
4. Install air hose adapter into spark plug hole and apply air pressure to hold valves in place [Apply pressure of 490 kPa (5 kg/cm2, 71 psi)].

Warning: When performing this operation piston should be set at Top Dead Center (T.D.C.).

5. Remove valve spring and valve oil seal.

Caution: Be careful not to damage the rocker shaft.





6. Apply engine oil to valve oil seal lip and install it in place.

Note: Before installing valve oil seal, install inner valve spring seat.
