1. Raise and support vehicle and remove wheel and tire assemblies.
2. Release parking brake.
3. Remove dust cover, then remove and discard cotter pin.
4. Remove adjusting cap and the wheel bearing nut, then the brake drum with outer bearing and washer.
5. Remove anti-rattle spring and pin, Figs. 14 and 15.
6. Remove return springs and brake shoes.
7. Remove clevis pin and disconnect parking brake cable.
8. Remove adjuster assembly.
9. Apply suitable lubricant to lubricating points, Figs. 14 and 15.
10. Rotate nut until adjuster rod is at its shortest length.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
12. Adjust brakes by applying hand brake several times.
13. Adjust parking brake as previously described.
