Idle Up Control Valve: Adjustments



1. Start and operate engine until normal operating temperature is obtained.
2. With A/C system OFF, ensure engine idle speed is as follows:
a. On non-turbocharged models with manual transmission, idle speed should be 650-850 RPM. On non-turbocharged models with automatic transmission, idle speed should be 600-800 RPM with transmission selector lever in D position.
b. On turbocharged models with manual transmission, idle speed should be 700-800 RPM.
3. With A/C system ON, intake lever at RECIRC position and fan control lever at 4 position, ensure compressor, F.I.C.D. actuator and solenoid valve are operating properly.
4. With A/C system ON, engine idle speed should be as follows:
a. On manual transmission models, engine idle speed should be 1000-1050 RPM.
b. On automatic transmission models, engine idle speed should be 1050-1100 RPM with transmission selector lever in N (neutral) position.
