Rod Bearing Specifications

NOTE: Lubricate the connecting rod bearing cap stud threads and nut seats with new engine oil.

IMPORTANT: Tighten the connecting rod bearing cap nuts in two steps to the specification. Only if an angle wrench is not available, tighten the connecting rod bearing cap nust to specification in step 2.

Step 1: 14-16 Nm (10-12 ft lbs)
Step 2: 60°-65° clockwise, or 38-44 Nm (28-33 ft lbs)

Standard 0.024-0.064 mm (0.0009-0.0025 in)
Limit 0.090 mm (0.0035 in)
