11. A/T Does Not Shift: D3 -> D4

SYMPTOM: A/T does not shift from D3 to D4 at the specified speed.
A/T must be warm before D3 to D4 shift will occur.


1. CHECK SYMPTOM
Are "7. Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In D, 2 Or 1 Position" Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In D, 2 or 1 Position and "8. Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1 Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1 OK?

Yes or No?

Yes >> GO TO 2.

No >> Go to "7. Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In D, 2 Or 1 Position" Vehicle Does Not Creep Forward In D, 2 or 1 Position and "8. Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1" Vehicle Cannot Be Started From D1.


2. CHECK SELF-DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS







With CONSULT-II
Does self-diagnosis, after cruise test, show damage to any of the following circuits?

- PNP switch
- Overdrive control switch
- A/T fluid temperature sensor
- Revolution sensor
- Shift solenoid valve A or B
- Vehicle speed sensor

Yes or No?

Yes >> Check damaged circuit. Refer to "DTC P0705 PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION (PNP) SWITCH" P0705, "DTC P0710 A/T FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR CIRCUIT" P0710, "DTC P0720 VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR-A/T (REVOLUTION SENSOR)" P0720, "DTC P0750 SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE A" P0750, "DTC P0755 SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE B" P0755, "DTC VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR-MTR" Vehicle Speed Sensor MTR.

No >> GO TO 3.







3. CHECK THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR
Check throttle position sensor. Refer to "DTC P0121 TP SENSOR" P0121.

OK or NG?

OK >> GO TO 4.

NG >> Repair or replace throttle position sensor.







4. CHECK A/T FLUID CONDITION
1. Remove oil pan.
2. Check A/T fluid condition.

OK or NG?

OK >> GO TO 5.

NG >> GO TO 7.


5. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
1. Remove control valve assembly.
2. Check the following items:
- Shift valve B
- Overrun clutch control valve
- Shift solenoid valve B
- Pilot valve
- Pilot filter

OK or NG?

OK >> GO TO 6.

NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.


6. CHECK SYMPTOM
Check again.

OK or NG?

OK >> INSPECTION END.

NG >>
1. Perform TCM input/output signal inspection Pinout Values and Diagnostic Parameters.
2. If NG, recheck TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.


7. DETECT MALFUNCTIONING ITEM
1. Remove control valve assembly.
2. Check the following items:
- Shift valve B
- Overrun clutch control valve
- Shift solenoid valve B
- Pilot valve
- Pilot filter

3. Disassemble A/T.
4. Check the following items:
- Servo piston assembly
- Brake band
- Torque converter
- Oil pump assembly

OK or NG?

OK >> GO TO 6.

NG >> Repair or replace damaged parts.
