Without Consult-II

DESCRIPTION
- The purpose of this test is to determine overall performance of the A/T and analyze causes of problems.





- The road test consists of the following three parts:
a) Check before engine is started
b) Check at idle
c) Cruise test





- Before road test, familiarize yourself with all test procedures and items to check.
- Conduct tests on all items until specified symptom is found. Troubleshoot items which check out No Good after road test. Refer to "ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM DESCRIPTION" and "TROUBLE DIAGNOSES FOR SYMPTOMS".

1. CHECK BEFORE ENGINE IS STARTED

- Check all items listed in Parts 1 through 3.

Without CONSULT-II





- Throttle position sensor can be checked by measuring voltage across terminals 41 and 42 of TCM.

Cruise Test-Part 1





1. Check Starting Gear (D1) Position





2. Check Shift Up (D1 to D2)





3. Check Shift Up (D2 to D3)





4. Check Shift Up (D3 to D4)





5. Check Lock-Up (D4 to D4 L/U)





6. Check Hold Lock-Up





7. Check Lock-Up Off (D4 L/U to D4)





8. Check Shift Down (D4 to D3)

Cruise Test-Part 2





1. Chek Starting Gear (D1) Position





2. Check Shift Up and Shift Down (D3 to D4 to D2)





3. Check Shift Up (D2 to D3)





4. Check Shift Up (D3 to D4) and Engine BBrake

Cruise Test-Part 3





1. Vehicle Speed (D4) Position





2. Check Shift Down (D4 to D3)





3. Check Engine Brake





4. Check Shift Down (D3 to D2)





5. Check Engine Brake





6. Check Shift Down (2(2) to 1(1))





7. Check Engine Brake
