SERVICE INFORMATION





If rivet cover clips used on the overfender flares of 2001 Frontier vehicles (see Figure 1) need to be replaced, improved replacement clips with enhanced fastening capacity are available. The PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin provides replacement clip part numbers based on model color code.

NOTE:
If any rivet cover clip(s) needs to be replaced, inspect all rivet cover clips on the vehicle and replace any that are loose.

SERVICE PROCEDURE:

1. Determine the appropriate color code for replacement rivet cover clips. The vehicle's color code is available on the F.M.V.S.S. certification label, located on the driver's door B-Pillar.

NOTE:
XE V6 vehicles with gray contrasting overfenders require non-painted clips. When replacing rivet cover clips for XE V6 vehicles, ensure that the appropriate rivet cover clips are used (see the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin for more information).

2. To install clips, hook one edge of the clip onto the overfender flare rivet and then push down on the opposite end of the clip and snap into place.
