2000-2003 XTERRA; FUSE 39 OPEN,
SIDE MARKER AND TAIL LIGHTS INOPERATIVE
APPLIED VEHICLES:
2000-2003 Xterra (WD22)
IF YOU CONFIRM:
^ The side marker lights, tail lights, fog lights, and/or dash illumination are inoperative and fuse 39 is open,
DETERMINE IF:
^ The wire harness is chafed/damaged at either the left or right front side marker lights (see step 1 in the Service Procedure).
ACTIONS:
^ Repair the damaged harness as needed.
^ Move the harness VT protector (protective tube), on both sides (left and right), and tape it in place (see step 2 in the Service Procedure).
CLAIMS INFORMATION
Submit a Primary Failed Part (PP) line claim using the claims coding shown.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. Remove the left and right front side marker lights and inspect the wire in the area shown in Figure 1.
^ If chafing or damage is found, repair as needed.
^ If no chafing or damage is found, this bulletin does not apply. Use the Service Manual (ESM) for further diagnoses and repair.
2. Move the VT Protector (protective tube) on both marker lights (left and right side) to cover the repaired area; tape it in place as shown in Figure 2.
NOTE:
Move the protective tube as shown in Figure 2 for both sides, even if no damage is found on one of the sides.
