1996-2000 PATHFINDER INSIDE REAR VIEW MIRROR LOOSE AND/OR FALLS OFF

APPLIED VEHICLES:
1996-2000 Pathfinder

SERVICE INFORMATION

If the rear view mirror on a 1996-2000 Pathfinder is loose or falls off, a new bolt is available to correct the condition. Use the information in this bulletin to remove the old bolt and install the replacement bolt.

NOTE:
This is the only authorized repair for this incident. DO NOT REPLACE the mirror assembly.

SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Insert a suitable tool, such as a small flat blade screwdriver, wrapped in a clean cloth as illustrated in Figure 1.

2. Separate and remove the access panel from the roof console assembly (see Figure 1).

3. Remove the three screws that attach the mirror base to the roof (see Figure 2).

4. Remove the bolt from the mirror base and replace it with the bolt listed in the Parts Information Section of this bulletin (see Figure 3).

NOTE:
Keep and re-use the mirror base spring when installing the replacement bolt.

5. Reinstall the parts in reverse order.
