Replacement






REMOVAL
1. Drain oil from transfer and transmission.
2. Remove exhaust front and rear propeller shafts.
3. Remove front and rear propeller shaft.
4. Insert plug into rear oil seal after removing propeller shaft. Be careful not to damage spline, sleeve yoke and rear oil seal, when removing propeller shaft.
5. Remove torsion bar spring and 2nd cross member.





6. Remove transfer control lever from transfer outer shift lever.
7. Separate transfer from transmission.

WARNING: SUPPORT TRANSFER WHILE REMOVING IT.








INSTALLATION
- Apply Nissan genuine Part No. KP610-00250, or equivalent sealant, to mating surface to transmission.
- Tighten bolts securing transfer as follows:
Torque Bolt No. 1 to 31 - 41 Nm (23 - 30 ft. lbs.)
Torque Bolt No. 2 to 31 - 41 Nm (23 - 30 ft. lbs.)

NOTE:
^ Bolt No. 1 is 45 mm (1.77 inch) long.
^ Bolt No. 2 is 60 mm (2.36 inch) long.
