SERVICE INFORMATION





If a 1994-97 Truck exhibits corrosion at the high mount stop lamp (see Figure 1), use the following service procedure to resolve the incident.

1. Repair the corroded area of the vehicle body using standard auto body repair practices.

2. Once the body repair is complete, re-install the high mount stop lamp using the new gasket (refer to the Parts Information table for the gasket P/N).

CAUTION:
Only use the gasket specified in the Parts Information table. Do not re-use the old gasket (from the vehicle) and do not use the former P/N gasket as to prevent new corrosion/damage from occurring.

NOTE:
If the high mount stop lamp was damaged by the corrosion, install a new high mount stop lamp assembly (refer to the Parts Information table for the stop lamp assembly P/N).

3. Check the high mount stop lamp for proper operation.
