Inspection





Measure the 2 points on outside diameter of thread
When difference between measured outside diameters is beyond limit value, replace bolt
Limit value
M10 0.15 mm (0.006 inch)
M8 0.10 mm (0.004 inch)

Tightening Sequence





M10 37.2 ± 2.0 Nm (27 ± 1 ft-lb)
M8 9.0 ± 2.0 Nm (80 ± 17 in-lb)
Then turn each bolt 90° in the tightening sequence

Crankshaft End Play
Standard value 0.05 - 0.25 mm (0.002 - 0.010 inch)
Limit 0.4 mm (0.02 inch)

Crankshaft Journal Oil Clearance
No. 1, 2, 4, 5
Standard value 0.039 - 0.065 mm (0.0015 - 0.0026 inch)
Limit 0.10 mm (0.004 inch)
No. 3
Standard value 0.051 - 0.077 mm (0.0020 - 0.0030 inch)
Limit 0.10 mm (0.004 inch)

When replacing the crankshaft bearing upper, select a bearing with the size corresponding to the cylinder block journal diameter.





The crankshaft bearing upper has an identification colour at the illustrated position.





Lower





When replacing the crankshaft bearing lower, select a bearing with the size corresponding to the crankshaft journal diameter.





The crankshaft bearing lower has an identification colour at the illustrated position.
