DTC B1314 Time-out error (TN panel close)






CIRCUIT OPERATION

At opening operation, when the convertible top is lowered, the convertible top control module stops applying current to the solenoid valve (tonneau drive cylinder) to control the hydraulic pressure to the tonneau drive cylinder. As a result, the tonneau panel is lowered. Then, when the tonneau latch switch (ready to latch) is turned ON, this control is terminated.

DTC SET CONDITION

This DTC is set when a signal from the tonneau latch switch (ready to latch) is not turned ON after the operation above continues for approximately ten seconds.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

- OFF failure of the tonneau latch switch (ready to latch)
- Damaged harness wires and connectors
- Malfunction of hydraulic circuit
- Malfunction of the convertible top control module

NOTE:
When OFF failure occurs at tonneau latch switch (ready to latch), DTC B1305 or B1306 is set at the same time.

DIAGNOSIS

Required Special Tools

- MB991958 Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: V.C.I.
- MB991827 M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910 M.U.T.-III Main Harness A
- MB992006: Extra fine probe

STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, read diagnostic trouble code.

Q. Is DTC B1305 or B1306 set?

YES [DTC B1305 is set] : Perform troubleshooting for DTC B1305.
YES [DTC B1306 is set] : Perform troubleshooting for DTC B1306.
NO : Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Check the convertible top operation.

Check that the tonneau panel is lowered when the convertible top is opened.

Q. Is the tonneau panel lowered when the convertible top is opened?

YES Go to Step 3.
NO Check the hydraulic circuit.
STEP 3. Check tonneau latch switch connector F-28 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.





Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 4.

NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s).

STEP 4. Tonneau latch switch (Ready to latch) check

Check for continuity at the tonneau latch switch (Ready to latch).





Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 5.
NO Replace the tonneau latch switch.
STEP 5. Check convertible top control module connector F-26 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.





Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 6.

NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s).

STEP 6. Check the harness between convertible top control module connector F-26 (terminal 16) and Tonneau latch switch connector F-28 (terminal 1), the harness between convertible top control module connector F-26 (terminal 18) and Tonneau latch switch connector F-28 (terminal 1) or the harness between tonneau latch switch connector F-28 (terminal 2) and ground.





Check the wiring harness for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 7.

NO Repair the harness wire.

STEP 7. Recheck the DTC.

Q. Is DTC B1314 set?

YES Replace the convertible top control module.
