A USB version 2.0 Flash drive (thumb drive) with a minimum capacity of 1 Gb, formatted to FAT32 is required for this procedure. Formatting to FAT32 will erase all data from the flash drive. The flash drive must have no other files or folders saved to it.
Dealers must obtain a 2.0 flash drive locally. It should be dedicated to this procedure and be kept in a safe place to use when customers ask about the difficulty when playing music with an Apple iQS4 device connected to FUSE through the USB connector.
A. Download Update File from MDL
If you have a USB 2.0 flash drive with a previously downloaded "update.package" file saved to it, proceed direct to "C. Update the Vehicle's FUSE Hands Free Link System" shown in this bulletin.
The software update file CANNOT be downloaded using the MDL access on your MEDIC. Downloading the file must be performed on a non-MEDIC PC.
