DOOR WINDOW GLASS ADJUSTMENT [ECLIPSE SPYDER]

Required Special Tools:

- MB992050: Delta glass adjust block set
- MB992051: Delta glass adjust block A
- MB992052: Delta glass adjust block B
- MB992164: Glass adjust block set
- MB992165: Glass adjust block G
- MB992166: Glass adjust block H
- MB992167: Glass adjust block I
- MB992168: Glass adjust block J
- MB992169: Glass adjust block K
- MB992170: Glass adjust block L

1. Adjust the convertible top (Refer to Adjustments).

2. Remove the door trim Removal and Replacement).

3. Remove the front rail weatherstrip, center rail weatherstrip and No.5 bow weatherstrip (Refer to Convertible Top Assembly Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the front pillar and front roof weatherstrip (Refer to Convertible Top Assembly Removal and Installation).

5. Remove the quarter window plug (Refer to Quarter Window Glass and Regulator Assembly Removal and Installation).





6. Install special tool MB992050 beside the mounting hole of the windshield holder.
NOTE:
Install special tool so that they contact the windshield holder mounting screws around the positions as shown.

7. Install special tool MB992164 beside the mounting hole of the weatherstrip holder.
NOTE:
Install special tool so that they contact the weatherstrip holder mounting screw or mounting bolt around the positions as shown.

8. Close the door window glass fully.









9. Adjust the position of the delta window glass in the fore/aft direction and the vertical direction.
(1) Loosen the delta window glass mounting bolts and nut.
(2)





Adjust the delta window glass to the position shown by moving them in the fore/aft direction the vertical direction.
(3) Tighten the delta window glass mounting bolts and nut.





10. Adjust the tilt angle of the delta window glass.
(1) Loosen the delta window glass mounting bolts and nut.
(2) Turn the adjustment bolt. The tilting direction of the delta window glass is altered by approximately 2 mm (0.08 inch) when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.

Adjust tilt angle of the delta window glass as shown.
(4) Tighten the delta window glass mounting bolts and nuts.









11. Adjust the position of the door window glass in the fore/aft direction and the vertical direction.
(1) Loosen door window glass mounting bolts a, b, and c as follows:

Loosen bolt a and bolt b with the door window glass fully closed.
.....2.
Lower the door window glass to the position that bolt c can be seen at the hole where bolt b was loosened.
.....3.
Loosen bolt c.

Adjust the door window glass to the position shown by moving them in the fore/aft direction the vertical direction.
(3) Tighten door window glass mounting bolts a, b, and c as follows:

Temporarily tighten bolt a and bolt b with the door window glass fully closed.
.....2.
Lower the door window glass to the installation position of bolt c.
.....3.
Tighten bolt c.
.....4.
Tighten bolt a and bolt b with the door window glass fully closed.





12. Adjust the tilt angle of the door window glass.
(1) Loosen the door window glass mounting nuts.
(2) Turn the adjustment bolt. The tilting direction of the door window glass is altered by approximately 1 mm (0.04 inch) when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.

Adjust tilt angle of the door window glass as shown.
(4) Tighten the door window glass mounting nuts.









13. Adjust the position of the door window glass in the vertical direction.
(1) Lower the door window glass to the fully open position.
(2) Remove the plugs.
(3) Turn the adjustment bolts with an E-shape torque wrench (size: Q6E6). The height of the door window glass is altered by approximately 1 mm (0.04 inch) when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.

Adjust the position of the door window glass in the vertical direction as shown.
(5) Install the plugs.









14. Adjust the position of the quarter window glass in the fore/aft direction and the vertical direction.
(1) Loosen the quarter window glass mounting nuts.
(2)





Adjust the quarter window glass to the position shown by moving them in the fore/aft direction the vertical direction.
(3) Tighten the quarter window glass mounting nuts.





15. Adjust the tilt angle of the quarter window glass.
(1) Loosen the quarter window glass mounting nut.
(2) Turn the adjustment bolt. The tilting direction of the quarter window glass is altered by approximately 2 mm (0.08 inch) when turning the adjustment bolt one rotation.

Adjust tilt angle of the quarter window glass as shown.
(4) Tighten the quarter window glass mounting nut.
16. Install special tools MB992050 and MB992164.
17. After adjustment, check that the following operations work normally.

- Power window
- Opening/closing of the doors
- Short stroke mechanism
18. Install the quarter window plug (Refer to Quarter Window Glass and Regulator Assembly Removal and Installation).
19. Install the front pillar and front roof weatherstrip (Refer to Convertible Top Assembly Removal and Installation).
20. Install the front rail weatherstrip, center rail weatherstrip and No.5 bow weatherstrip (Refer to Convertible Top Assembly Removal and Installation).
21. Install the door trim Removal and Replacement).
