DTC B1307 TN latch close sensor: L=ON/R=OFF






CIRCUIT OPERATION

- The convertible top control module judges the convertible top operating state based on the signals from the sensors and switches.
- The tonneau latch switch is the one of those switches and it consists of a tonneau latch switch (Ready to latch) detecting the tonneau panel state and a tonneau latch switch (Latched) detecting the tonneau latch state. Signals from the tonneau latch switch (Ready to latch) and the tonneau latch switch (Latched) are input through different circuits to the convertible top control module, and the following signals are output to the convertible top control module according to the opening state of the convertible top.







DTC SET CONDITION

When the tonneau latch switch (latched) is OFF, if the signal of convertible top control module (terminal 17) ON and the signal of convertible top control module (terminal 19) OFF are input to the convertible top control module, this DTC is set as a harness error between the tonneau latch switch (latched) (terminal 3) and the convertible top control module (terminal 17 or 19).

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

- Malfunction of the convertible top control module.
- The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector

DIAGNOSIS

Required Special Tools

- MB991958 Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: V.C.I.
- MB991827 M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910 M.U.T.-III Main Harness A
- MB992006: Extra fine probe

STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, read diagnostic trouble code.

Q. Is DTC B1315 set?

YES Perform troubleshooting for DTC B1315.
NO : Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Using scan tool MB991958, check data list.

Use scan tool MB991958 to check the following service data (Refer to Data Reference Table).

- Item 17: Tonneau latch close sensor LH)

OK: "ON" appears.


Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 5.
NO Go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Check convertible top control module connector F-26 and Tonneau latch switch (LH) connector F-28 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.





Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 4.

NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s).

STEP 4. Check the harness between convertible top control module connector F-26 (terminal 19) and Tonneau latch switch (LH) connector F-28 (terminal 3) or the harness between convertible top control module connector F-26 (terminal 17) and Tonneau latch switch (LH) connector F-28 (terminal 3).





Check the wiring harness for short circuit.

Q. Is the check result satisfactory?

YES Go to Step 5.

NO Repair the harness wire.

STEP 5. Recheck the DTC.

Q. Is DTC B1307 set?

YES Replace the convertible top control module.
