INSTRUMENT PANEL ASSEMBLY

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

WARNING: For removal and installation of the passenger's side air bag module, always observe the service procedures described in SRS, Air Bag Module and Clock Spring.

The following bolts and screws are used for installing the instrument panel. Bolts and screws are indicated as marks shown in the illustration in the sections of "Removal and Installation" and "Disassembly and Assembly."







CAUTION:
- Refer to SRS Service Precautions and Air bag Module and Clock Spring before removing the passenger side air bag module.
- Do not subject the SRS-ECU to any shocks when removing or installing the instrument panel.

REMOVAL SERVICE POINTS

[[A]] PASSENGER'S (FRONT) AIR BAG MODULE CONNECTOR REMOVAL







1. Remove the grove box upper cover.
2. Slide the outer housing of the passenger's (front) air bag module connector in the arrow direction shown, and disconnect the connector.

[[B]]PASSENGER'S (FRONT) AIR BAG MODULE REMOVAL

WARNING:
- The air bag module must not be measured with such equipment as an ohmmeter.
- The air bag module must not be disassembled.
- The removed air bag module should be stored in a clean, dry place with the deployment surface facing up.








Insert a flat-tipped screwdriver or similar tool to the location shown in the figure. After disengaging the tabs, remove the passenger's (front) air bag module.
