TOP STACK RAIL WEATHERSTRIP

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION


Pre-removal And Post-installation Operation:




Removal Steps 1-7:






Required Special Tools:
- MB992171: Retainer adjust block set
- MB992172: Retainer adjust block A
- MB992173: Retainer adjust block B
- MB992186: Retainer setting hanger LH

- MB992187: Retainer setting hanger RH

INSTALLATION SERVICE POINT

]]A[[ SHIM/TOP STACK FRONT RAIL WEATHERSTRIP HOLDER/TOP STACK CENTER RAIL WEATHERSTRIP HOLDER/TOP STACK REAR RAIL WEATHERSTRIP HOLDER INSTALLATION

CAUTION: When adjusting the top stack rail weatherstrip holder, decide the position in the order of front, center, and then rear.







1. Separate special tool MB992186 or MB992187 into the fixing bracket and the hanger bracket.







2. Install the magnetic pins on the hanger bracket of special tool MB992186 or MB992187 to the clip holes of the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder.







3. Slide and install the hanger bracket of special tool MB992186 or MB992187, to which the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder was attached in Step 2, from behind the front door window glass.

NOTE: Close the front door window glass fully.







4. Make the block on the hanger bracket of special tool MB992186 or MB992187 touch the top stack No.1-bow to decide the hanger bracket position in longitudinal direction.







CAUTION: When fixing special tool MB992186 or MB992187 to the side rail, make sure that the holders at the front and back of the special tool are in contact with the front door window glass securely. Then, adjust the special tool MB992186 or MB992187 so that the front door window glass is not stressed in the right and left direction, and fix the special tool to the side rail.







5. Install the fixing bracket of special tool MB992186 or MB992187 to the hanger bracket of special tool MB992186 or MB992187, and fix special tool MB992186 or MB992187 to the side rail.







6. Lower the front door window glass to create sufficient clearance for installation of the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder screws from the access holes of special tool MB992186 or MB992187.







7. Temporarily install the screws of the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder (3 places) from the access holes of special tool MB992186 or MB992187.







8. Select shims that fit into the clearance between the side rail and the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder, and install them (3 places).
9. Tighten the screws of the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder (3 places) from the access holes of special tool MB992186 or MB992187.
10. Remove special tool MB992186 or MB992187.
11. Temporarily install the screws of the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder (2 places).







12. Install special tool MB992172 between the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder and the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder. Use special tool MB992172 to align the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder with the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder.







13. Select shims that fit into the clearance between the side rail and the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder, and install them (2 places).
14. Tighten the screws of the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder (2 places).
15. Remove special tool MB992172.
16. Visually check the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder and the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder that they are aligned continuously in the lateral direction and vertical direction.
17. Install special tool MB992172 between the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder and the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder again. Use special tool MB992172 to check that the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder is aligned with the top stack front rail weatherstrip holder.

NOTE:
- If the installation condition is good, the adjustment is complete.
- If the installation condition is not good, repeat from Step 11.

18. Temporarily install the screws of the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder (3 places).







19. Install special tool MB992173 between the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder and the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder. Use special tool MB992173 to check that the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder is aligned with the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder.







20. Select shims that fit into the clearance between the side rail and the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder, and install them (3 places).
21. Tighten the screws of the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder (3 places).
22. Remove special tool MB992173.
23. Visually check the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder and the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder that they are aligned continuously in the lateral direction and vertical direction.
24. Install special tool MB992173 between the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder and the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder again. Use special tool MB992173 to check that the top stack rear rail weatherstrip holder is aligned with the top stack center rail weatherstrip holder.

NOTE:
- If the installation condition is good, the adjustment is complete.
- If the installation condition is not good, repeat from Step 18.
