DTC B1326 TN latch sensor: Close&Open=ON

Tonneau Latch Switch and Tonneau Latch Open Sensor Circuit:

CIRCUIT OPERATION
The convertible top control module judges the tonneau latch state based on the signals from the tonneau latch switches (latched) and the tonneau latch open sensor provided on the tonneau latch cylinder. The tonneau latch open sensor and tonneau latch switch (latched) output the following signals to the convertible top control module according to the toneau latch state.







DTC SET CONDITION
This DTC is set when the signals from tonneau latch switch (latched) and the tonneau latch open sensor are turned ON simultaneously.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
- ON failure of tonneau latch switch (latched) (including short circuit of signal line)
- ON failure of tonneau latch open sensor (including defective sensor power supply line or signal line)
- Malfunction of the convertible top control module

NOTE: When ON failure occurs in tonneau latch switch (latched), DTC B1307 or B1308 is set at the same time.

DIAGNOSIS

Required Special Tool
- MB991958 Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly)
- MB991824: V.C.I.
- MB991827 M.U.T.-III USB Cable
- MB991910 M.U.T.-III Main Harness A

- MB992006: Extra fine probe

STEP 1. Using scan tool MB991958, read diagnostic trouble code.

Q: Is DTC B1307 or B1308 set?

YES [DTC B1307 is set] : Perform troubleshooting for DTC B1307. B1307

YES [DTC B1308 is set] : Perform troubleshooting for DTC B1308. B1308

NO : Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Using scan tool MB991958, check data list.

1. Close the convertible top.
2. Use scan tool MB991958 to check the following service data. Refer to Data List Reference Table. Data List Reference Table [Eclipse Spyder]
- Item 19: Tonneau latch open sensor

OK: "OFF" appears.

Q: Is the check result satisfactory?

YES : Go to Step 6.

NO : Go to Step 3.

STEP 3. Check convertible top control module connector F-26, F-27 and tonneau latch open sensor connector F-21 for loose, corroded or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector.







Q: Is the check result satisfactory?

YES : Go to Step 4.

NO : Repair or replace the damaged component(s).

STEP 4. Check the harness between convertible top control module connector F-26 (terminal 20) and Tonneau latch open sensor connector F-21 (terminal 1), and between convertible top control module connector F-27 (terminal 2) and Tonneau latch open sensor connector F-21 (terminal 2).







- Check the tonneau latch open sensor power supply lines and signal lines for open or short circuit.

Q: Is the check result satisfactory?

YES : Replace the tonneau latch open sensor. Then go to Step 5.

NO : Repair the harness wire.

STEP 5. Using scan tool MB991958, check data list.
Use scan tool MB991958 to check the following service data. Refer to Data List Reference Table. Data List Reference Table [Eclipse Spyder]
- Item 19: Tonneau latch open sensor

OK: "OFF" appears.

Q: Is the check result satisfactory?

YES : The procedure is complete.

NO : Replace the convertible top control module.

STEP 6. Recheck the DTC.

Q: Is DTC B1310 set?

YES : Replace the convertible top control module.

NO : Intermittent malfunction (Refer to general, How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points, How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
