INSPECTION PROCEDURE 4: When the Auto-cruise Control "CANCEL" Switch is Set to ON, Auto-cruise Control System is not Cancelled.COMMENT
The cause is probably an open-circuit in the output circuit inside the "CANCEL" switch.
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS (The most likely causes for this case:)
- Malfunction of the auto-cruise control switch.
- Malfunction of the ECM.
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Check for diagnostic trouble code.
Read the diagnostic trouble code of the auto-cruise control system. Scan Tool Connecting
Q: Is DTC 15 set?
YES : Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code Procedures - DTC P15: Auto-cruise Control Switch System. Then go to Step 3. DTC 15
NO : Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Retest the system.
Q: Does the auto-cruise control "CANCEL" switch set to ON, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?
YES : It can be assumed that this malfunction is intermittent (Refer to General (Body and Chassis), How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction).
NO : Replace the ECM. When the ECM is replaced, register the encrypted code (Refer to Wireless Control Module, Troubleshooting - ID Code Registration Judgment Table). Then go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Retest the system.
Q: Does the auto-cruise control "CANCEL" switch set to ON, auto-cruise control system is cancelled?
YES : The procedure is complete.
NO : Return to Step 1.
