HANDS-FREE SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
PURPOSE
Use the following procedures to assist in answering customers questions or to diagnose concerns regarding the Hands-Free System.

2007 Outlander
2008 Lancer
PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT
A JCI case number is required for all Hands~ree system warranty repairs.
The JCI case number is also required before contacting Tech Line for Hands-Free system diagnosis assistance
1. Print out several copies of the Hands-Free System Information Sheet located on page nine of this bulletin. The Hands-Free System Information Sheet can also be found on the Mitsubishi Dealer Link (MDL) on the service tech resources main page and in Warranty Central in Warranty Forms.
2. Verify the vehicle is equipped with the Hands-Free system by:
^ Checking on the warranty SuperScreen or
^ LANCER: Look for a Hands-Free control module behind the passengers side of the dash.
^ OUTLANDER: Remove the radio or Mitsubishi Multi-Communication System (MMCS) and look for a Hands-Free control module. See photo.
3. Advise customer to contact JCI or the website and give them a copy of the Hands-Free system Information sheet.
NOTE:
Dealers can also check phone compatibility by contacting JCI at the number shown or visiting the web site shown above.
If after discussing the concern with a JCI customer service representative and they determine it to be a vehicle concern, the JCI customer service representative will give the customer a six- digit case number.
4. Use the charts to help diagnose Hands-Free system concerns.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
IMPORTANT!
No warranty work should be initiated without first obtaining a JCI case number. Warranty work performed prior to obtaining a JCI case number and/or warranty work performed that does not align with the instructions given by JCI will be subject to chargeback. When in doubt, contact JCI at before performing any warranty work.

You must enter the JCI case number in the "spec Value" field of the related warranty claim. Claims without the JCI case number will be charged back.
HANDS-FREE SYSTEM INFORMATION SHEET
For concerns or questions regarding the Hands-Free system, please follow the procedure outlined below:
1. Contact JCI or the Mitsubishi website.
2. After discussing the concern with the customer service representative, if it is determined to be a vehicle related condition, please ask the JCI customer service representative for a case number and note it in the space provided below.
