POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (PCM)REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
CAUTION:
- Do not replace the PCM and the ETACS-ECU simultaneously. Always replace either one of the ECUs first, and register the encrypted code (Refer to Chassis Electrical, Ignition Switch - Encrypted Code Registration Criteria Table). Then, replace the other ECU.
- After the PCM is replaced, idling speed may be unstable because the MFI engine learning is not completed. To make it stable, make the system learn the idling (Refer to General, Precautions before Service - Learning Procedure for Idling in MFI Engine).

REMOVAL SERVICE POINT
[[A]] BREAK-OFF BOLTS REMOVAL
1. Drill in the break-off bolt a hole deep enough for the tap to stand.
2. Remove the break-off bolt with a left-hand tap.
INSTALLATION SERVICE POINTS

Tighten until the head of break-off bolt is broken off.

Turn the ignition switch on then off, and keep it off for at least 10 seconds.
