PROCEDURE
1. Remove the right hand side door sill cover, the right hand side outer kick panel and the right hand dashboard side cover.
2. Remove the glovebox assembly per the service manual.
NOTE:
Care should be taken with the customer's personal belongings. Place them in a container (box or bag) and put them where they will be safe. Return them to the glovebox when repairs are complete.
Take note of any factory or customer installed accessories (e.g. iPod harness). Remove or detach and reinstall as necessary.
3. Remove the bolt indicated in the photo.
4. Stack 2 standard 6 mm I.D. washers together (approx 4 mm total thickness) and insert them between the dashboard and the dashboard crossmember. They should be centered behind the location for the bolt as shown.
5. Do not reuse the original bolt. <
Install a replacement bolt (P/N - MS240156 or
equivalent), insuring it goes through the washers.
6. Reinstall the glovebox assembly, the dashboard side cover, the passenger's outer kick panel and the door sill cover.
7. Check the fit of the glovebox lid to the dash. Make sure the fit is even, with no gap along its entire length.
